OMG, Not Dead

Sun Nov 16, 2008, 9:54 AM
Well, I suppose it's time to reveal the secret. Even though I haven't posted in like, y'know, more than a year.

I've been updating a blog regularly at [link] but we'll see how long that lasts. (Mainly because I want a different domain.)

I went ahead and uploaded a few scraps, I did get a graphics tablet recently, but I'm still really really bad at drawing. I've been thinking of trying to refine my stick figure style, but we'll see. The sad thing is that if I wanted to, I could probably do really, somewhat ridiculously, like, detailed backgrounds and props and stuff. I just can't draw people, at all.

Who knows, maybe a revival of "A Man and His Mac" is in order?

Anyway, we'll see. Maybe. mwahahaha!

Some Updates

Mon Aug 6, 2007, 10:07 PM
Well, I never post here, but let me do so just in case some people don't read my other blog, over at [link]

I've been having hard disc failures left and right. in June it was my iMac's 160 gig internal drive, and now I'm toying with the idea that my external 80 gig drive might be about to kick the bucket. I am currently in the process of researching various external storage options. My intent is to get either a RAID5 box or a Drobo drive to act as a safe, online storage method for my photo library. I've also been looking at tape backup solutions, which I would need/want in the event I can't or don't get a RAID box.

Anyway! to the next thing.

It's that time again! A new school year is about to start, and I've got two fresh Steno Pads ready to go. StenoEIGHT and Steno9, as I'll be calling them. (I like writing out Eight more than I like writing "8.") I am going to write my name and do a little bit with the front of the steno pad (like write StenoEIGHT on it) but I wonder if anybody else would be interested in doing the art on the back of the little thing. It's been kind of a tradition that I would draw "the Steno Face" on the back of whatever steno pad I'm using, but with Steno6 and Steno7, different people have done the back art.

Anyway, what I was wondering is if I should just draw the Steno Face on the back, or if anybody else was interested in doing the back art. It would be cool to have a different person do it each semester, or whatever.

I've been waiting for a chance to do this. ;)

"First five people to comment on this entry get a free doodle from me. But the catch is you gotta do this for five other people too. If you do this, you must post this in your journal and do 5 doodles for other people."

(I might do them as photos or 3d type things, if that's acceptable)

86413 to 98038: A Bicycle Odyssey

Thu Jul 6, 2006, 4:46 PM
Hey Everybody!

This is the revival of my Road Trip project. This time, I am going to try to take a bike ride to Washington. I plan on going still, maybe... but with a bicycle!

First, however, I must fund-raise, plan, train, etc etc.

So I'm not even totally sure I'll go this summer.

However, we'll see what happens. If worst comes to worst, I will have raised funds and whatever, and then the funds will just sit while I go to college, and then take my bike ride next summer.

I made a blog for the project: [link]

I will take lots of photos, and post some of them on dA, and I will probably make another website dedicated to the photos.

Katie, deviant:pencilears will be glad to know that she has inspired this. :P

Millions of Scraps

Sat Jul 1, 2006, 3:43 AM
I have put up a bunch of scraps. Please view them oldest-first, if you view them. They are funnier that way.

I will provide a list right here of their URLs, in the proper order. :D

Of course, this list is purely for your entertainment convenience, you can view them in any order, but a lot of them have jokes that are sort of.. cumulative, if you know what I mean. :D

For example, I referrendce aliens, canadians, and advertising/marketing/sales in many of them.

etcetera.

Regaurding the situation where I now have more pictures of Kira than of Ashley... I plan on fixing that soon. Though, tonight (this morning) I was sortof trying to make it up to Kira, for never having posted a photo of her.

Anyway... the only reason they're all scraps is because I'm too lazy to work my way through that many iterations of the photo category selection worksheet riggy. I hate that, and so a lot of my photos, esp. the not-that-artsy ones like some of these, are ending up as scraps now. Some of them (read: almost all of them) are technically good enough to be actual deviations, except of course, the ones with in-camera blurring effects (slow shutter) and the ones from my old camera (my refusal to use flash is quite hindering sometimes. :D)

anyway, sorry for dumping so many on here in one go. and then for writing a huge big thing about how sorry I am. ;)

At least I'm not truncating things like the name michael, then posing weird questions about what I just did. :D

also, for the super-bored people, and people with an RSS reader: [link] I'm going to update my blog eventually! :D Esp. now that I can do it in iWeb, since I got the G3 back up, but with debian linux, so that I'm not pirating OS X server anymore. now, I'm only pirating iWeb. ;) But since that came with the macbookpros at school... at least I'm not pirating rapidweaver anymore. (well, technically I still am, but I'm not using it as much. :P)

oh, as like a fifth sidenote, I joined dA just over 2 years ago.
